Out on a boat

Little Fox made friends with some people at the end of our road, Mr&Mrs R's. Yesterday, he went to the beach with my mom-in-law and hey got to go for a ride in their boat! He was so excited. When he woke up this morning, the very first thing he said was "When can we go on the boat?"

We went down this afternoon, and sure enough, he got another ride on the boat. I went with him this time. We went up to (and under) Stanley Bridge and back. We had a great time, and hit a few big waves to get splashed.

Back to life

I haven't posted in a long time. I've felt guilty that I am not running... but then I realised that this blog started as a personal-family blog, and the running was a part of that. So, here's a personal, family-kind of blog post that isn't about running.

Red Fox is Sea Fox once again. He left on July 3rd. His mom is staying with me to help with Little Fox and the cottages.

Little Fox is taking part in a study regarding kids' fittness and activity level. We did a phone survey and they sent us a pedometer which he wears every day for a week. We record the numbe of steps he takes each day and then send it back. This is perfectly timed for us, because I wanted to get him to stop watching TV. I let him watch in the morning until about 9, and after supper. Today, we went to the beach, so I took it off of him while he was there. Even though he didn't wear i for over 4 hours today, he still logged almost 12,000 steps today. It helps when there are kids staying in the cottages; he loves going outside to play with them.

Here are some photos from our beach day. We had a picnic lunch. I introduced Little Fox to the joys of being buried in the sand.

Livin' the life.

After the beach, we had dinner and a movie (chicken fingers and fries, and one of the AirBud movies, I think). After that, we took Molly for a walk, and stopped by the golf couse to chat with Janet.

So, so far so good. Almost halfway until Sea Fox comes home!
