I tried running today with the Ktown group. Ow. My foot. It's not terribly pain, but enough that makes me think I should rest it for a few days.
Of course this happens when I have that 10k race in 2 weeks.
Maybe I'll try the Colonel Grey 5k on the 13th, and see how I feel then.
Don't push it. I had major foot pain before my 10k last year too. It's the mileage you've been putting in. Make sure to ice it frequently and maybe by some KT tape and tape around it for extra support!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it!
I tired ice the last time i had this problem, and it hurt really bad. I spoke to the pedorthist I saw and she said that if ice hurts to try heat. I'll try ice in a bit, and if not, then heat. I should update this post to explain the problem. I have "freak feet". My feet are so flexible, that when she was checking me over, the pedorthist kept laughing and saying "I can't believe that! I've never seen this before!". I have zero stability in my foot and when I step down, my bones splay more than they probably should. I need better sneakers, but just can't afford them right now. She said I'm probably not damaging anything by running, but I'm going to play it safe anyway, and rest it for about a week. It helped last time, so fingers crossed!
