Had a beautiful run today, but my knee started to hurt (just a little bit) at about 7.5 k, so I'm feeling discouraged. I'm about to admit defeat and contact the PEI marathon people to ask to do the 10 k instead. but I don't want to. I don't know what to do.

From one runner to another...I think you should do the 10k...asking your body to do the mileage of a 1/2 (even if you walked it) would be asking for injury. Set the goal for yourself at another race.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly my thinking, Courteney.
DeleteSplits, is that each k, if it is your last is the fastest
ReplyDeleteWow Erin,
ReplyDeleteYour runs are looking strong....with the exception of the sucky knee pain that is. :( I think you need to make the call of what your body is telling you. I think that once you're recovered you will be running strong again.
Happy Running!
